Junction City Manager Allen Dinkel reported this week that the city and county will receive money from the American Recovery Act. What is unclear right now is the amount.
Dinkel informed the Junction City Commission that there are different numbers and local officials don't know how they will be able to use them. "One thing that we're looking at is possibly water and sewer system upgrades which would help us save money that we had planned to use for that, and help out long term. Don't know all the rules yet but it could be a substantial amount of money."
Dinkel added the county will get some funding as well, but a lot of the details are not yet known. It will probably be another two to three weeks. "But there's going to be some substantial money coming through the community on that."
