Laura Miller, teacher and Future Farmers of America (FFA) Advisor, had three of her students share their marketing plan, which will be used at the 99th Annual FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. The competition will be October 20-23. Students who presented were Brittany Dibben, Deyton Dibben and Kennedy Moreland.
The students did extensive research and consultation with local businessowner Ryan Atkins who owns Chasing Tail Outfitters, the students prepared a marketing plan as a competitive presentation for State competition. With the positive results at the State, the team of three students are in the process of refining their work in preparation for competition at the national level.
The students worked up an analysis of the status and marketing strategies, trends, purchasing and marketing trends and a buyer profile and behavior of the demographics of current and future customers in the area. Other data was collected about the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) in a client analysis.
Other information found from surveys which showed that 18–60-year-olds have a priority in hunting quail and pheasants with a secondary interest in hunting deer and turkey.
Ninety percent of those surveyed support a veteran owned business.
Long-term and short-term goals were shared with Mr. Atkins. A complete video presentation by the students may be viewed on the JC Breakfast Optimist Club’s Facebook page or Youtube.
The JC Breakfast Optimist Club donated $300.00 to the JCHS FFA program in support of the students and the work they do at school in our community.
