65th District State Representative Jeff Underhill has been appointed to four committees in the Kansas House. They include the Elections, Insurance, Local Government and the Child Welfare and Foster Care Committee.
Underhill is working on a couple of big bills with other legislators, and they are hopeful one significant measure can be submitted to the House and Senate this week, "is working to extend the statute of limitations for sexual assault victims." Underhill noted that there is currently some language that inhibits survivor's rights. 'So we're trying to clarify that and make it easier for some people to get justice."
This is the first term in the Kansas House for Underhill, who also serves as a member of the Junction City Commission.
