Storm follow up in Geary County

Some large hail fell in  southeast Geary County Wednesday evening, but Emergency Management has not received any report of damage. According to Assistant Emergency Management Director Curt Jahnke, the largest hail was three inches in diameter. It fell on Ridge Road just off of Clarks Creek Road and K-57.

Multiple tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for the Geary County area by the National Weather Service Wednesday night. 

According to Emergency Management Director Garry Berges There were some vehicle windows south of Burley Hill Road southeast of Junction City that were broken. Hail was generally more than two inches in diameter in that area.

Rain and hail fell elsewhere in the county with Berges estimating that hail size in the dime to quarter size range. Farther damage that might have occurred will have to be determined during the day Thursday.

No injuries were reported Wednesday night.
