Deputies respond to accidents

The Geary Couny Sheriff's Deparment said on Friday at 5:22 p.m. Deputies responded to the 6900 Block of Old Milford Road for a two-vehicle accident. Brayden Coffman of Milford, KS was traveling west in the 6900 Block of Old Milford Road, in his 2014 Chevrolet Cruze when he attempted a U-Turn. This caused Donovan Myers of Milford, KS who was also traveling west in his 2004 Dodge Dakota to run into Brayden. No injuries were reported, the two vehicles were removed by their owners and sustained functional damage.

On Saturday at 1:03 a.m. Deputies responded to Interstate 70 mile marker 293 for a single vehicle accident. Joshua Mercer of Junction City was driving his 2007 GMC Denali east bound when he fell asleep and the vehicle left the roadway to the south. It struck a fence, a large sign then the guardrail along Taylor Road and caught the grass on fire near the guardrail. The vehicle sustained major damage. Hurt was seen by Junction City EMS and declined to be transported for any injuries. The vehicle was towed by A Homestead Recker Service.
