Alberta Mae Rhodes joined her family and friends up in heaven on Sunday, March 31, 2024 in Harlingen, Texas.
She was born May 7, 1923 to Albert and Viola (Hawk) Funk who preceded her in death. Also she was preceded in death by two sisters Becky Funk, Rachel M. Drake and a brother Daniel Funk.
She graduated from Abilene High School in Abilene with the class of 1941. She was the youngest of her family. Alberta married her classmate Donald D. “Dusty” Rhodes on November 20, 1945 in Long Beach, CA. They later divorced with no children.
She is survived by three nephews and their families, Frank Drake of Overland Park, Kansas, Andrew “Andy” Funk of Comstock, Texas, Albert “Butch” Funk of San Antonio, Texas, plus cousins and many friends.
Her friendly nature and a very caring of people endeared her to everyone who met her.
Graveside services for Alberta will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the Abilene Cemetery.
