The 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, “Dagger,” 1st Infantry Division, officially opened the Ready Now Kiosk on Custer Hill May 21, delivering a modern, convenient, and healthy dining option for Soldiers and community members who live and work on the installation.

Operated by Culinary Specialists from the 299th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, the Ready Now Kiosk provides quick, nutritious grab‑and‑go meals, including fresh sushi, and is open daily from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Its location on Custer Hill places it within immediate walking distance of barracks, motor pools, and brigade work areas, ensuring Soldiers can refuel quickly without leaving their operational footprint.

The kiosk is open to meal‑card holders, non‑meal‑card holders, and civilians who live, work, and support the Fort Riley community, expanding access to high‑quality food options across the installation.

The initiative aligns with the Army’s Food Service Modernization efforts, which emphasize healthy choices, extended access, and modernized dining experiences, including micro‑markets, grab‑and‑go stations, and flexible hours that support Soldiers working irregular or extended shifts.

“This kiosk is just one of many steps to improve our Soldiers’ quality of life and readiness,” said Col. Tom Smith, Commander of 2nd Brigade. “Efforts like the Ready Now Kiosk truly contribute to our unrivaled warfighting excellence.”
