Howard Johnson hit five three point shots as the Junction City Blue Jays outran the Seaman Vikings 80-63 in the opening game at the new JCHS.&nbsp; The Blue Jays used strong defense and shooting to jump out to a 10-point halftime lead and the Vikings never got closer than within 6 points the rest of the way.

The Blue Jays play at Topeka High Tuesday night.

In girls basketball at the new JCHS, Seaman opened with a 19-0 lead and went to defeat Junction City 62-12. There was a running clock in the fourth quarter.

Junction City goes to Shawnee Mission North Monday and plays at Topeka High on Tuesday.
