On Wednesday, March 5, the Kansas Department of Transportation will close the J-Hill Road bridge over I-70 in Junction City, pending bridge replacement.

<a>KDOT said that they have been monitoring and performing regular inspections of the bridge, and a load rating was set in August 2024. Findings from these inspections have resulted in the decision to close the structure until the bridge replacement has been completed.</a>

There will be no signed detour, motorists will need to find an alternate route.

Replacement for the J-Hill Road bridge has been accelerated and is expected to occur during 2025 in tandem with the current I-70 improvements in this area.
