Work occurred Thursday morning to move a truck and trailer carrying an empty container that had stalled on Liberty Hall Road west of Junction City. The work was done after a power unit for the trailer was brought in from Texas overnight. That unit guides the trailer.

There was a second truck and trailer following the first one. At about 8:45 a.m. they were able to turn off Liberty Hall Road onto Taylor Road as they traveled to the Michelin plant near Old Highway 40 in Geary County.

Liberty Hall between Taylor Road and Gfeller Road in Geary County is shut down to all traffic. According to Emergency Management a mechanical breakdown on a large transport unit carrying a large container is the reason.

Barricades and signage have been put up in the area. Please find a different route for areas west of Gfeller Road and Liberty Hall. Parts for the repair are enroute from Texas. The transport unit was headed to  the Michelin plant located near Old Highway 40.

Emergency Management will make notification when the road is back open.
