Larry “Tom” Smith

Larry “Tom” Smith, 80, of Miltonvale, KS died February 24, 2021 at the Salina Regional Health Center.  He was born December 12, 1940 the son of Laurice and Alice (Hood) Smith. Tom grew up in Miltonvale and graduated from Miltonvale High School in 1958.  He attended Miltonvale Wesleyan College and Brown-Mackie College in Salina.  Tom married Ruth Whitney on June 5, 1962.  He farmed his entire life in the Miltonvale area.  He also worked at Hutchinson Manufacturing, Miltonvale COOP, Miltonvale Lumber and did custom harvesting in Kansas and Oklahoma.  Tom was a member of the Miltonvale United Methodist Church, Young Farmers and volunteered for the Miltonvale Rural Fire Department.  He was also an avid trap shooter.  He is preceded in death by parents and grandson, Luke Smith.

Son: John Smith of Newton, KS

Daughter: Mary and husband, Thomas Good of Leawood, KS

Son: Jeffrey and wife, Angie Smith of Garfield, KS

6 Grandchildren: Ben Good, Thomas Petrie, Libby Petrie, Loren Smith, Leah Smith and Adalee Smith.

Sister: Mary and husband, Darrel Blake of Assaria, KS

Sister: Nancy and husband, Carmen Trahan of Bennington, KS
