Big Red One Family recognition and bluffs naming ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. Friday at the Outdoor Chapel on the bluffs above Main Post.
During the event the Army will recognize 14 families who have consistently demonstrated strength and resilience. There will be an unveiling of two benches dedicated by the Society of the 1st Infantry Division and former commanding generals of Fort Riley that will overlook the Flint Hills and a provide a site for reflection.
The event is part of the Big Red One Year of Family.
Visitors who do not have a Department of Defense ID card will need to get a pass at the visitor control center, Exit 301 off of I-70.
