Longtime Geary County Museum curator, Heather Hagedorn, will expand her duties. She has been named the executive director for the Historical Society and will also continue as curator.
"They're combining positions, so I'll still be doing all the things I've been doing as curator." said Hagedorn. That work includes preparing exhibits for the museum.
Hagedorn said there is already a plan of operations for at least the next couple of months. "Because people haven't stopped scheduling programs and we haven't stopped figuring out what kind of events we can do, so we're already rolling ahead."
Hagedorn noted that she would like to get some younger people interested in history. "Most of the people that we see are either very young, elementary school children which is wonderful, or much older age people. " Hagedorn would like to see younger adults and youth engaged in the history of the county, and why Geary County is a good place to live.
