JC Breakfast Optimist Club
On November 20, the JC Breakfast Optimist Club supported three organizations that work with youth in Geary County. The Girl Scouts are preparing for the Christmas Parade and upcoming cookie sales. Ellen Westerhaus represented the Girl Scouts to receive the $200.00 check.
I.C.A.R.E. is the Intergenerational Clearinghouse and Research Education Center in Junction City. The organization works to involve older adults and youth in activities, being pen pals, learning about each other in the different periods of time in which each lived and providing exercise equipment at local parks. Scott Olson, President, represented I.C.A.R.E. Two hundred dollars was donated by the Optimists.
The Court Appointed Special Advocate of the 8th Judicial District representative was Lisa Hatt. C.A.S.A. is an advocate for local children of abuse and neglect. A $200.00 donation was made to C.A.S.A. by the Optimists.
