On Thursday at 2:01 p.m. Deputies responded to the 5300 block of Old Hwy 40 for a motor vehicle accident. Nathan Bates of Chapman was traveling west in his 2005 Chevrolet Colorado when a semi large rock fell from a moving tractor truck and rock trailer and collided with Nathan's driver side front window.
Bates stated the truck was unaware and continued. Nathan was unable to provide adequate information for the truck. He reported the windshield was totaled and removed his vehicle from scene.

On Friday at 12:15 a.m. Deputies took a hit and run accident report at the 310 mile marker I-70 eastbound rest area. Bryan Atse of Manhattan alleged he was traveling westbound on I-70 when his white in color 2022 Dodge Charger was struck by a semi-truck and trailer.
