Bruce David Council, age 55, of Herington, Kansas, died July 10, 2021, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS. He was born December 12, 1965, in Manhattan, the son of Bill D. Council, Sr. and Shirley A. (Sherley) Council. Bruce grew up in Manhattan and graduated from Kansas State High School on August 29, 1992. He was a truck driver for Shilling Construction for more than 18 years. Bruce enjoyed reading, music, cooking and grilling, and was very devoted to his work. On February 17, 1995, in Manhattan, he was married to Rose Marie Huff. Rose survives of Herington, KS. Additional survivors include his four children: Brandon Council of Bettendorf, IA, Abbygail Council of Topeka, KS, Skylar Council of Herington, KS, and Bruce Council II of Manhattan, KS; nine grandchildren; and two siblings: Billy and Sheryl. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Shannon. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Thursday, July 15th, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, KS 66502.
