SkillsUSA is an extracurricular activity at Junction City High School "that fits well with the Career Pathway", Aaron Yoder, CTE Tech Instructor and sponsor of Skills USA said.  "Leadership, personal skills, tech skills, public speaking, first aid and cpr, welding, building a shed and many other areas may be represented in the SkillsUSA competitions," he also stated.

Kennedy Moreland told the Optimist Club members that she, Abigail Pankow and others competed at the district level recently held in Eudora, Kansas. Kennedy competed in public speaking and Abigail helped build a shed in two days. Yoder said that " JCHS students had 11 out of 12 qualify for state. Qualifiers are currently preparing for those state competitions, which will be held later this school year.
