Behind the Curtain: "The Dungeon"

Not all of Geary County Historical Society projects are visible to the public. Over the winter, Museum custodian John Sterling and Board Members Bob Petri and Bill Powers took on the museum storage space that is called "the dungeon." This space holds a combination of exhibition props, event paper products, education costumes, and had become the dumping ground for everything and anything.

According to the Historical Society with John's leadership, everything was pulled out, windows were cleaned and lined with a film, shelves were built, fresh concrete was poured, clothing racks were installed and the entire space transformed into a usable and organized space for the first time in decades.
