Updated historic signs along Washington St were unveiled this week. This project, which replaced decades old historic signs was a joint project of the Geary County Historical Society and Junction City Main Street. The six new signs include updated photographs and historic information related to the history of Washington Street.
Work between the two organizations included the Historical Society researching and designing the signs with photographs from their collection, and Junction City Main Street undertaking project management with contractors to clean the stone, restore the metal framework, and finalize the printing of the metal signs.
Junction City Main Street and the Geary County Historical Society want to thank Golden's Washing, Precision Signs LLC, and Ben Kitchen's Painting LLC for their work on the project. The signs can be found on the corners of 7th and Washington, 8th and Washington, and 9th and Washington.
