RILEY COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating an alleged sex crime and have made an arrest.
Just after 1:30p.m. Wednesday, police arrested 20-year-old Israel Newby of Manhattan in the 9900 block of Jasmine Drive in Manhattan, according tot he Riley County Police Department activity report.
Newby is being held on a $250,000 bond on a requested charge of rape. The crime is reported to have occurred in December 2023.
