Geary County had the top ranking in Kansas when it comes to COVID-19 vaccinations with a rate of 81%. The county ranked 15th in the state in COVID-19 cases.
The information was provided to the county commission Monday by Interim Health Department Administrator Charles Martinez. There were 90 active COVID-19 cases while one person was hospitalized. There had been 158 Delta variant cases but there had not been any Omicron cases.
The anticipated situation includes an increase at the beginning of January but then a rapid drop. The increase should not exceed the capacity of the hospital or health department.
