The All Star game for the Mid Plains League next summer will be played at Rathert Field. Cecil Aska, Junction City Brigade General Manager, confirmed that development during a Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours at the ballpark Thursday evening.
The number of teams in the league remains to be set for next summer. explained Aska. "We've had a couple of league meetings. There are going to be a couple of expansion teams that the league is going to look to approve." Aska anticipated the All Star game would probably be in early July.
Aska noted that among the new improvements are a sound system and improvements to the locker rooms. "The grass is now coming in better in spots. " He added the field is looking good.
The Brigade did not play this past summer due to the coronavirus pandemic. They expect to play in 2021.
