The effort to keep streets and adjacent areas clean continues Saturday morning in Junction City. The coordinator, Phyllis Fitzgerald, said volunteers can meet at 8 a.m. at the Qdoiba's parking lot on East Chestnut Street. "Anyone that wants to come out and help volunteer we'll probably spend 60 minutes to 90 minutes, I will bring the gloves and the trash bags. We will spend that time beautifying our community."
Fitzgerald leads cleanup efforts on East Chestnut Street once or twice per month, and in recent years has led other cleanup and aesthetic improvement efforts in Junction City ranging from hanging flower pots downtown to banners with veterans photos in the downtown area.
