Junction City Blue Jay football players competed Saturday at Blue Jay Stadium. Coach Randall Zimmerman came away pleased with the effort. "We had a good week and a lot of that showed up."
Zimmerman praised the execution on offense and defense. We saw some really good things. We've got a great group of kids. We love the potential of this group. " The coach confirmed that the athleticism of this group is good. One stat that pleased him involved the lack of any turnovers.
The Blue Jays will compete in a Jamboree Friday night with Shawnee Heights and Washburn Rural at Shawnee Heights.
Also on Saturday players from Junction City and fort Riley Middle Schools competed in their own practice, and youth in grades K-6 had a session as well.
