Geary County Sheriff Eric Coffman this week responded to recent public comments about the Sheriff's Department substation near Milford Lake. He noted it was built at a cost of $750,000 using asset forfeiture money.&nbsp; There are some fees to maintain it such as electric and internet service.

The substation helps serve the Milford Lake area.

The Geary County CVB is down to about 2,500 remaining visitor guides. They initially printed 15,000. CVB Director Donna Price commented that they will go with quite a few more in 2025.

Preliminary data is in from CVB personnel trips to the Denver and Omaha shows. They are connected to 160 trips to visit Geary County estimated at total expenditure of just over $16,000. Nineteen local attractions were visited and there were 12 overnight stays at lodging facilities. There were than 2,000 clicks on the CVB app.
