Sen. Jerry Moran touched on a number of topics during remarks at the Military Affairs Council breakfast in Junction City Thursday. He made two special points at the end of his comments.
The senator thanked the community for their love and caring for the Soldiers who serve. "Many of you have family members who serve but the love, care and compassion that is exhibited time and time again in this community, it is a privilege to represent people who care so strongly about those in our military."
Moran also noted that there are Soldiers from the 1st Infantry Division serving in Europe today. "I don't know what the next step is, and what further deployments or extensions might be, but I have little doubt but what we will continue to have Fort Riley serving Americans in their service in Europe."
Moran added that Atlantic Resolve is designed to ensure that NATO is reassured, and Russia knows that the United States knows this country is serious about its NATO obligations.
