Double Victory With Honors

There will be a Double Victory with Honors ceremony  for the 1st Infantry Division Deputy Commanding General - Support Brig. Gen. Niave Knell and the Chief of Staff  Col. Brandon "Bull" Smith at the 1st Infantry Division HQ Victory Hall, Building 580, Fort Riley on Friday at 2:00 p.m.

Maj. Gen. John V. Meyer, III, Commanding General of the 1st Infantry Division and Fort Riley, will host a double Victory with Honors, as the division says goodbye to both of them.

  A Victory with Honors is a chance to honor Fort Riley leaders who are departing. It is a ceremony to thank them for their service to the unit, the community and the Army, while bidding them farewell and best of luck at their next duty assignment.

Brig. Gen. Knell has served as the DCG-S since May 2022. Her next assignment will be  at Fort Sam Houston, TX, as the United States Army North Deputy Commanding General of Operations.

Col. Smith has served as the CoS since May 2022. Prior to his assignment as the CoS, he also served as the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team Commander while at Fort Riley. His next assignment will be at Fort Leavenworth, as the Combined Arms Center Chief of Staff.
