Chapman will not have a Labor Day celebration this year. it has been cancelled due to concerns about COVID-19. The cancellation was confirmed by City officials in a social media announcement and a check with City Hall.
In a Facebook announcement the City posted a statement. "We are sad to announce that per Dickinson County Health officer, this year's Labor Day festivities have been cancelled. There were already plans not to hold a parade this year and all other activities were scheduled on Sunday, Sept. 6. This would have been the 111th annual celebration.
