Flint Hills OB / GYN has always been located at Geary Community Hospital but now they are becoming a part of the hospital team. Dr. Anwar Khoury decided to sell the practice to the hospital and become an employee. "This is the trend nationwide and I stopped bucking it anymore, and went on with the trend."
Khoury plans to continue with GCH for a long time. During his 25 years the practice has certainly grown. "We have over 15,000 charts, delivered thousands of babies, it's a large practice. " Khoury noted that the hospital is considering adding another OB/GYN to join the practice. "Hopefully that happens so there is the prospect of growth."
During a brief ceremony at the Martha K. Hoover Women's Health Center a contract was signed with Geary Community Hospital.
Terrah Stroda, CNM, said Flint Hills OB/GYN is celebrating becoming part of the Geary Community Hospital team. "Instead of being privately owned and employed, Dr. Khoury and I and our staff are part of the GCH employee list so we are now Geary Community Hospital employees."
