Jerry Lonergan has accepted the position of Executive Director for the Flint Hills Regional Council. His first day on the job will be April 25th, and he will also attend the Council's board meeting on April 22nd.
One of the primary focus areas for the Council is to serve as a resource for the smaller populated communities and counties to help them in pursuing grant opportunities, "for infrastructure, for housing, for all kinds of needs that the region has, and also work closely with the larger cities like Manhattan, Junction City, Wamego to see what resources we can be or what value we can be to those communities as well. "
Lonergan spent the past year as the Interim Director for the Junction City Main Street Program. His final day on the job there will be April 15th.
