GEARY COUNTY—Two people were injured in separate motorcycle accident just before 7:30p.m. Saturday in Geary County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2026 CFMOTO motorcycle driven by Anton D.Cogdell, 26, Fort Riley, was northbound on K57 approximately a mile south of Interstate 70. The driver lost control on a curve and traveled off the roadway to the right.
A 2026 Yamaha motorcycle driven by Aaron G. Hoover, 27, Leonardville, saw the earlier motorcycle crash in front of him. He stopped suddenly. A 2023 Aprilla RS 660 motorcycle driven by Vie K. Velazquez Calderon, 25, Junction City, rear-ended the Yamaha. After impact the Aprilla motorcycle flipped end over end and came to a rest in the roadway.
EMS transported Cogdell and Velazquez Calderon to Stormont Vail Health Flint Hills Campus in Junction City. Hoover was not injured. All three were wearing helmets, according to the KHP.
