Work is set to begin on a roof replacement at the Geary County Historical Society the first week of September. According to Historical Museum Director Heather Hagedorn the work will be completed by McGee Roofing and work is expected to take less than a week.
The museum will be closed to the public for the duration of the project, but staff will still be accessible by phone or email throughout the work week.
The Historical Society was a recipient of a Heritage Trust Fund Grant at the start of 2022, which covers up to 80% of the project’s cost. The Historical Society is still raising funds to help cover the remaining balance of the roofing cost (nearly $15,000). Interested donors can call Heather at 785-238-1666 or email [email protected].
