Live Well Geary County and the Geary County Health Department have been selected to lead a team to participate in the Building Bridges Learning Community, a national initiative led by the American Public Health Association (APHA) to strengthen partnerships that improve health, well-being, and health equity.
According to Live Well Geary County the Building Bridges Project focuses on strengthening collaboration between governmental public health agencies, nonprofit organizations, and community-based organizations. The initiative is rooted in the understanding that trust-based partnerships are essential to address public health challenges.
Susan Jagerson, Director of Live Well Geary County, and Charles Martinez, Director of Geary County Health Department, are the co-leads as they have been recognized in their commitment to collaborative, community-driven approaches to improving health outcomes in Geary County.
As part of a seven-month program, this team representing Geary County will receive a $10,000 grant, along with access to peer learning, expert guidance, and technical assistance. With public health partners, the team will design and implement a joint work plan focused on strengthening collaboration and advancing shared health goals.
