There will be a wind advisory in effect Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m. for an area that includes Manhattan and Junction City. Counties in the watch area include Riley, Geary, Wabaunsee, Shawnee, Douglas, Osage, Franklin, Coffey and Anderson.
Manhattan, Junction City, Alma, Eskridge, Maple Hill, Alta Vista, McFarland, Harveyville, Paxico, Topeka, Lawrence, Osage City, Carbondale, Lyndon, Burlingame, Overbrook, Ottawa, Burlington, Lebo, and Garnett are the cities in the advisory area.
National Weather Service forecasts south winds from 25 to 30 miles per hour with wind gusts of up to 45 mph. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages could occur.
Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
