Nancy Ellen Weeks, 74, of Belvue Kansas, passed away on March 13, 2024 at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan, Kansas.
She was born on July 12, 1949 in Wamego, KS. Nancy was the daughter of Edith (Lyddane) and Keith Weeks. Nancy graduated Wamego High School in 1967, then proceeded her education in teaching. Nancy taught for many years and later retired from the Americus school district after 30+ years of teaching. Nancy never wanted to stop working. After retiring from teaching, she continued to work at Stockgrowers State Bank for many years in Paxico, KS, she later retired at the end of 2023.
Nancy was also a life member (51 years) of Loyal Chapter #176 Order of the Eastern Star in Silver Lake, Kansas. She was also a former charter member of the Wamego Assembly #72 of Rainbow Girls.
Nancy is survived by her nephews, Robert Mundy of Admire, KS; Tony (JoAnne) Mundy of Yreka, CA; niece Terri (Scott) Nelson of Las Vegas, NV; and great niece Shelby (Jonathan) Lagerquist of Wamego, KS. Nancy also had a great nephew Grant Nelson, Las Vegas Nevada; great nephew Grant Mundy of Admire, KS, and two great nieces Rachel (Nicholas) Trollope of Pittsburg,KS and Oliva Mundy of Girard, KS. Nancy also had a great great niece Brooklyn Lagerquist of Wamego, KS, and was expecting another great great niece this coming spring. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents Keith and Edith Weeks, her two sisters, Loreen Weeks (Kraushaar) and Judy Weeks (Mundy), and her niece Barbara Zimmerling (Kraushaar).
Nancy loved being an aunt, and was the staple of our family. She had many friends throughout her life who thought the world of her and she will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date by her family. The Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home,|Manhattan, KS is handling arrangements.
