K-State Women’s Tennis Reveals 2021 Fall Schedule

MANHATTAN, Kan. – After concluding the 2021 spring season at the Big 12 Championships, head coach Jordan Smith announces the 2021 fall season schedule on Friday (September 17).

The fall season will begin with a three-day tournament at the Ole Miss Invite in Oxford, Miss., on September 24-26.

Shortly following the Ole Miss Invite, the Wildcats will head off to Charleston, S.C, for the ITA All-Americans Championship on October 4-10.

After a short break from competition, K-State will compete at the ITA Regionals from October 21-25 in Iowa City, Iowa.

Concluding the 2021 fall season is the Big 12 Fall Championships hosted by Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla., on November 5-7.

The Wildcats finished the 2020-21 season with an overall record of 7-12 (2-7 Big 12). K-State ended the season in the first round of the Big 12 Championships, 4-3, to No. 9 seed Kansas.

K-States 2021 recruiting class of Dinora Alloyarova (Engels, Russia) and Florentine Dekkers (Ammerzoden, Netherlands) has been ranked among the Top 25 nationally by the Tennis Recruiting Network, which is the premier site for junior tennis. It marked the first time that K-State has appeared in the rankings in four years since departing Wildcat Margot Decker and seniors Maria Linares and Anna Turco boasted the 14th-best class in 2017.

The Wildcats will return six letter winners, including All-Big 12 selections Karine-Marion Job and Linares for the 2021-22 season. Job collected Big 12 honors in both singles and doubles play, while Linares earned recognition for her contributions with Job in doubles' competition at the No. 1 spot. The team finished the spring schedule with a 7-12 overall record, including a 2-7 mark in conference play.

Seniors Rosanna Maffei and Ioana Gheorghita will also be returning to the roster as well as sophomore Manami Ukita.
