Kansas Department of Transportation will begin patching and resurfacing the westbound lanes and shoulders of I-70 in Dickinson County on Wednesday. Work will begin at mile marker 289, just west of the Geary/Dickinson County line, and continue west about three miles to mile marker 286, just east of Chapman Creek.
Westbound traffic on I-70 will be reduced to one 16-foot lane at a reduced speed through the work zone. Drivers should expect minimal delays, not exceeding five minutes.
APAC-Kansas Inc. Shears Division of Hutchinson is the prime contractor and has scheduled this $1.6 million project to be completed in August.
KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a highway work zone.
