Geary County Emergency Management Director Garry Berges told the JC Breakfast Optimist Club on Wednesday that the Unified Incident Command Leadership Team has met every day since March 12 to share information about COVID-19.
Berges indicated that there is a coordinated effort to share and respond to the virus and effects on the people of Geary County. "There is lots of cooperation between different agencies included in these meetings. One example given was when thermometers were needed. Schools were closed in USD 475. Contact was made with school district officials to get thermometers, which were then provided to Emergency Management to distribute where needed in the county.
