
RILEY COUNTY —After analysis and a follow up survey, it has been determined that a small EF-2 tornado occurred just before 7:30p.. Saturday June 11 in Manhattan, according to the National Weather Service.
The small brief tornado had a path of only 0.30 miles just east of the KSU campus, with maximum estimated winds to around 115 mph.
The National Weather Service originally said straight line winds caused nearly $10 million in damage.

Riley County officials said preliminary assessments found 41 residential and business properties were damaged, with 20 properties sustaining major damage and three homes destroyed.
The weather service also said four EF1 tornadoes touched down in Marshall and Pottawatomie counties on Saturday night. No serious injuries were reported from any of the storms.
