TOPEKA - The National Weather Service has announced both in person and virtual Storm Spotter classes for 2023.
County Emergency Managers work together with the National Weather Service to offer storm spotter classes in preparation for severe weather season.
During severe weather events, storm spotters provide important information that assists the warning operations at the National Weather Service.
A National Weather Service meteorologist teaches thunderstorm structure and development, along with thunderstorm safety and information on when and how to report storm information.
Virtual storm spotter training sessions will be held on:
-March 16th from 7pm to 8:30pm - register here for this session.
-April 6th from 7pm to 8:30pm - register here for this session
