David Carlson, President and one of the Director's of the JC Community Band, received a $200.00 donation from the JC Breakfast Optimist Club&nbsp; with the money going to the Jack Moore Scholarship.

 The Jack Moore Scholarship was created to honor the long-time percussionist in our area.&nbsp; After playing one year in the Community Band students may apply for the scholarship&nbsp;to attend a band camp, which is usually&nbsp;at Fort Hays State University in the summer.&nbsp;&nbsp;The selection process will be conducted at a later date and announced at a Community Band Concert in June.&nbsp; 

Concerts are held at the C.L. Hoover Opera House on Sundays at 3:00 PM during the month of June.&nbsp; An added concert will start the season on May 31.&nbsp;&nbsp;The concerts are free and open to the public.&nbsp; &nbsp;
