The Junction City/Fort Riley Pacesetters and Fort Riley special needs families will participate in the Special Needs Rodeo July 15, 2023 at the Geary County Fair Grounds on S. Spring Valley Road.  Last year there were eighty-one attendees.  The Junction City Rodeo Association cowboys and cowgirls will assist at the event.

The benefits of the Special Needs Rodeo is to provide special needs individuals information about the perspective of equine therapy, boost physical activity, and self-confidence, and provide a culture enriching recreational activity.  Participants will have the opportunity for onsite experience riding a lead horse, a prompt bull ride, horse and carriage ride and learn to rope a stationary steer made of wood and other activities.

The JC Breakfast Optimist Club provides t-shirts for each of the children who attend and participate.
