Junction City woman, 2 others injured after I-70 crash

WABAUNSEE COUNTY—Three people were injured in an accident just before 11:30a.m. Monday in Wabaunsee County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a Toyota Avalon driven by  Headlee, Amanda R. Headlee, 36, Junction City, was eastbound on Interstate 70 just west of Tallgrass Road.

The car rear-ended a rear-ended a 2020 Subarau passenger vehicle driven by Michael G. Howes, 74, Carlsbad, California.

After impact, the Subaru left the roadway and struck a large rock wall in the ditch. The Toyota came to rest on the right shoulder.

EMS transported Headlee and and a passenger in the Subaru identified as Roslyn Broas, 70, Carlsbad, California to Stormont Vail.  Howes also had a serious injury. The KHP did not indicate where he was transported for treatment. Headlee was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
