Letter carriers nationwide, including in Junction City, will conduct their annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on Saturday. They will be collecting donations that residents have left near their mailboxes.
In Junction City the collections will help out the Geary County Food Pantry at 138 West Third Street. People are encouraged to leave a sturdy bag containing non-perishable foods, such as canned soup, canned vegetables, canned meats and fish, pasta, rice or cereal next to their mailbox before the regular mail delivery on Saturday. Food donations stay in each community, going to help local residents.
