TOPEKA, Kan. — The Junction City Blue Jays dropped a heart-breaker Tuesday night, seeing a last-minute lead slip away against the Washburn Rural Junior Blues, by a score of 49-46.

Howard Johnson lead the Blue Jays with 16 points, while Terrence Tedder added in 14, but Washburn Rural's Joe Berry scored 21 points to power the Junior Blues to the win late.

Each team lead by as many as six points, but Washburn Rural would force JCHS into a handful of late turnovers and escape with the win.

Junction City is now 8-11 on the season and will be the #4 seed in the sub-state bracket. Junction City will host #5 seed Topeka High on Saturday afternoon, with official game time to be announced Wednesday.
