MANHATTAN - On Friday, May 19, McCain Auditorium will host the Thundering Cats Big Band with the performance beginning at 7:30pm.

In 2009, the Thundering Cats Big Band was founded in Manhattan.

The band consists of local musicians from all walks of life with the goal of keeping big band music alive.

Directed by Frederick Burrack, the Thundering Cats Big Band performs in the Spring and Fall for community events and supports educational and outreach programs through McCain Auditorium.

This concert is also to provide the opportunity for community members to sing with the big band in a grand event on the McCain Stage. Approximately 16 singers from around the community will be singing songs like “Misty,” “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” “Satin Doll” and many other favorites. The band will be playing “Sing, Sing, Sing,” “Bill Bailey,” and more.

Tickets are $10 per person plus fees and taxes and are available online at mccain.k-state.edu or at the Ticket Office in the newly expanded McCain lobby from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays. Tickets are also available by phone, 785-532-6428, during the same hours.
