Construction continues on the new Junction City High School but USD 475 Superintendent of Schools said recently that the District is in a good position on  this project. "We're wrapping everything up. Of course there will be some finishing touches that will continue throughout the rest of the year. " Eggleston said officials are excited about all of the academic opportunities that will occur in the building.

The superintendent said there is always talk about a facility but it is what happens inside that makes the big difference. "I have to commend the principal, the administrators and the teachers and staff for just making the adjustments as we started a new year." The school year did begin a couple of weeks late because of construction difficulties. "But they have done a fantastic job making the adjustments."

Enrollment rose approximately 200 students at JCHS at the beginning of the school year to near the 1,600 student level.
