
Junction City / Geary County United way has released a list of items needed for their Stuff the Bus effort to provide school supplies for needy children in Geary USD 475 and Chapman USD 473.
Backpacks are needed.
Items in great need include two-inch and three-inch ring binders, black dry erase markers, disinfecting wipes, composition books, number two pencils and mechanical, facial tissue, three by three sticky notes, pencil pouch and case and headphones.
Other items include crayola crayons - 24 pack, gallon / quart freezer bags, glue sticks / glue - 8 ounce, large pink erasers, plain pocket folders and yellow highlighters.
You may drop off supplies at the United Way Office at 139 E. 8th Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be collection days on Saturdays, July 23, 30 and Aug. 6 at Dillon's and at the Wal-Mart Super Center.
Additional drop off locations Monday through Friday include Intrust Bank, Exchange Bank, Sunflower Bank, Central National Bank and KS State Bank, Dillon's, the Wal-Mart Center and the Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce. Adopt-A-Backpack contributions can only be dropped off at United Way and KS State Bank.
In Chapman additional drop off locations are the Astra Bank, Irish Den, Londeen's Hardware and the Chapman Library.
