Junction City police have reported the arrest of five juveniles, boys ages 15-17, in connection with multiple vehicle burglaries in the area of Sunset Drive early Tuesday morning. The juveniles were arrested on allegations ranging from Vehicle Burglary, Motor Vehicle Theft and Possession of Stolen Property to Aggravated Battery and Robbery with the charges varying by individuals.
According to JCPD Captain Corey Odell said police started receiving reports of multiple vehicle burglaries in the area of Sunset Drive in Junction City early Tuesday morning. "During the course of those investigations we were also made aware of an attempted robbery with an aggravated batter that was believed to have been the same individuals that were breaking into the cars."
Odell said shortly after taking the initial calls several local juveniles were located in a stolen vehicle at a gas station in Junction City. He added that the victim in the aggravated battery case suffered injuries requiring stitches.
