Dinosaurs have arrived at Flint Hills Discovery Center

MANHATTAN — The Flint Hills Discovery Center's latest temporary exhibit, Dinosaurs: Fossils Exposed runs until May 7.

This interactive, hands-on exhibit gives guests of all ages memorable ways to interact with these prehistoric beasts. Guests can:

  1. View and even touch six complete dinosaur skeletons including a Triceratops, Tyrannosaurus Rex, and Velociraptor.
  2. Stand next to a 6-foot-1 Apatosaurus femur.
  3. Take their picture with a Velociraptor.
  4. Unearth ancient dinosaur bones using paleontology tools.
  5. Climb on and through natural wood tunnels.
  6. Analyze five dinosaur footprints, investigate 13 skulls, and compare different egg sizes and shapes.
  7. Discover how different dinosaurs moved, where they lived, and how they survived and interacted with the world and other dinosaurs.

"Dinosaurs have captivated the imaginations of young and old for generations." said Stephen Bridenstine, FHDC Assistant Director. "Dinosaurs: Fossils Exposed is a wonderful way for families to spend a day together learning, playing, and interacting with these amazing creatures.”
